Forming around their present downtown at the intersection of Bridge and Broad, the Village of Linden was established in 1871, with structures dating back to 1840.

Trash & Recycling Services In The City Of Linden
Trash curbside service is weekly, year round.
- Trash material must be inside of the 95-gallon trash cart at each home.
- No individual container or bag should weigh more than 75lbs.
- Trash cannot be contained in paper bags or placed outside of the cart.
- Yard waste is collected weekly from April 1st until the first week of December.
Recycling is every other week year-round.
- We do not pick anything up as recycling that is not contained in the Recycle cart.
Bulk is allowed and is limited to 1 item per week Below are the exceptions:
- Construction material must be prepared properly with nails/screws removed and bundled together.
- Carpet must be rolled into 4ft sections and weigh no more than 60lbs, no more than 10 bundles at one
time. - Doors must be removed from appliances for safety purposes.
- Mattresses and Box Springs are recommended to be bagged but it is not required.
Freon Bearing appliances
- Freon must be removed and tagged by a license technician prior to being placed at the curb.

- Christmas Day
If your service day is on or after the holiday, that week, your service day will be delayed one day.
